Hypnotherapy

My approach as a hypnotherapist is Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy (CBH). I combine the methods of hypnotherapy and cognitive behavioural therapy to give your mind the tools it needs to effect positive change in your behaviour, emotions and thoughts. It draws from an extensive range of disciplines in the fields of therapy and neuroscience  which allows me to create a unique treatment plan that avoids the one-size-fits-all approach.

CBH is evidence based, this means that there have been clinical studies proving its efficacy for the treatment of stress, anxiety, IBS and warts as well as range of other ailments.

This all works because of the mind’s often underestimated ability to influence our physiology. Through the use of clinically proven hypnosis techniques I can give you unparalleled control over your mind and body. Read more below about the applications I specialise in.

Pain Management

I will teach a variety of techniques which will allow you to have a greater conscious control over your body. This will allow you to alter your perception of the pain, manage the stress and fear that can often come with pain and in some cases take your mind’s focus away from pain to more pleasant sensations.

Stress Management

During our sessions I will teach you how to react to stress in different ways, and how to change the way you think about situations and events that might usually cause you to feel stress. By changing your mindset and perspective, and training you to better handle stressful situations you can radically alter the way you approach challenges and you will find yourself embracing life in a much more relaxed and compassionate way.

Weight Management

Through the use of hypnotherapy I will help you change the way you feel and think about food. So rather than struggling to overcome cravings, you’ll find you no longer crave the unhealthy foods and are perfectly happy eating the healthy ones. I will also teach you the skills and patience needed to empower yourself to reach your dream body!

Social Anxiety

Most of us will experience some form of mild anxiety in our lives, especially in stressful situations like public speaking. However, for some, it can be a very serious disorder that affects a person’s ability to socialise and negatively impacts their quality of life. Using hypnotherapy I will give you new ways of interpreting social encounters and teach you to move away from the negative thought patterns that form the basis of anxiety. This will help lead you into a more relaxed state of being, and socialising will no longer seem so taunting.

Habit Reversal

Many of us today suffer from unwanted habits and compulsions. These can vary in range from nail-biting to teeth-grinding to thumb sucking and everything in between. Using hypnotherapy I will guide you into changing your perception of the habit, and over a number of sessions you will learn to overcome them and live without them.

If you have questions or concerns don’t hesitate to send me an email.
